Two-file custom rack system made to fit the center-console ashtray opening in an SLC 180. The author description explicitly identifies the R172 ashtray and provides a fitted remote-control rack plus a starter frame that can be extended for other small controls. Source fitment is limited to the SLC 180 facelift variant; no pre-facelift SLK fitment is claimed. Use a cabin-temperature-capable material, verify the insert is fully seated, keep controls and loose objects clear of the selector and roof controls, and remove the rack if it can move or obstruct driving controls.
